Family affair

It is the Family get together and this is the day that you give the money away to younger people.

Just like the presents they got in the Christmas was not good enough, in Japan, we have this tradition of giving money to kids in the new years…

I mean, Japan has this magical ability of importing foreign tradition with some business plan attached, making you feel like you have to spend money for the justice’s good will, keeping up with your family. Don’t get me wrong, I believe that cheering up kids in the holiday season once is good. We all have that shit. Japan had it before  KFC Japan decided that the Christmas was big deal. But now, because of the Christmas imported on top of already existed meaningful tradition, double punch in the stomach is killing us!

First, that was only a week ago that, not only I had to give every one of my family a gift, I had to buy one acting like Santa, then this…

Anyways, the tradition this time is called “OTOSHIDAMA.” Try saying O-To-Shi-Da-Ma. It is just like trick or treat. The money hungry children will suck your wallet all the way up.

Some motherfucker like me are very fucking fortunate to have 14 children in the current family tree extension, and I just fucking lost 500 USD for nothing.

Great days for the kids.

C’mon China. Try importing these tradition in your soil. You’ll have lower birth rate instantly.
